Final Fantasy VII Remake Will Be A Multi-Part Series

Following on from yesterday's trailer announcement during the PlayStation Experience, the Final Fantasy VII Remake has now been confirmed as a multi-part series due to the sheer depth of the the title.

"The idea that a remake of Final Fantasy VII would not fit into a single release was there from the very beginning," said Yoshinori Kitase, the game's producer.

Tetsuya Nomura, the game's director, claimed that "If we dedicated our time to a single release, parts of it would become summarized. We'd have to cut some parts, and additional parts would come in few, so rather than remake the game as a full volume, we decided to do multiple parts."

Both claimed that they were unable to share more details about what this means in a literal sense until later in the game's development cycle. However, Kitase did say that in relation to this development and how it plays out with the the story "we're preparing a number of mechanisms and such".

How do you feel about the decision to make the game take place over multiple parts? Let us know in the comments below!
