Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition and Royal Edition both coming March 6

Square Enix has announced that both Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition and Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition will be released worldwide on March 6, 2018.

Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition was of course announced last year and will be available via Steam, Windows Store and Origin.

Final Fantasy XV Royal Edition was recently revealed by the ESRB, it will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It will feature the following:

An all-new dungeon - Insomnia City Ruins: Expanded Map. This includes all-new side quests and enemies such as Cerberus and Omega. Players will also be able to face the Rulers of Yore.

The first person mode.

All season pass content – Episode Gladiolus, Episode Prompto, Multiplayer Expansion: Comrades, and Episode Ignis.

Armiger Unleashed – after you collect all 13 royal arms, a more action-oriented mode of the Armiger is unlocked.

Royal Vessel – the boat is now a controllable vehicle. The same body of water (between Cape Caem and Altissia) can now be freely explored. With this you can discover new fish and Ignis will come up with new recipes.

Over a dozen pieces of DLC, including weapons, Regalia car skins, and item sets.

Players can also review the “Cosmogony” stories scattered throughout the game with an Archive. Additional local myths and legends will also be placed in various new locations, allowing players to obtain more information about the world.

There will also be new trophies/achievements and a quest to obtain and strengthen Regalia Type-D.

And of course the main game.

The Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition will include the above content as well. It will also feature ongoing mod support.

A benchmark tool and instructions to help players optimise their PC for the game’s launch will be available beginning February 1.

Starting February 1 there will be store specific pre-order bonuses. By pre-ordering through the Windows Store, fans will receive the bonus “FFXV Powerup Pack.” This pack contains items designed to power up the player’s performance in combat. By pre-ordering through Steam, fans will receive the bonus “FFXV Fashion Collection.” This pack contains a selection of outfits for the prince and his pals. Those who pre-order on Origin will receive the bonus “FFXV Decal Selection.” This pack contains an array of cool and colorful decals for the Regalia. More details on the early purchase bonuses will be available at a later time.

Important to the note the physical PC version is only an installer. You will still require an Internet connection and Steam. And it will not come with the Steam pre-order bonus.

All 3 editions will be available to purchase from $49.99 USD on March 6, 2018.

Those who already own Final Fantasy XV can purchase the Final Fantasy XV Royal Pack from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Store on March 6 for $19.99 USD. It will contain all the new content and features.

Finally, the Royal Edition will feature all new cover artwork by Yoshitaka Amano.
