Yen Press has announced that they will release Final Fantasy XIII-2: Fragments Before in English on April 23, 2019.

The prequel novella to Final Fantasy XIII-2 was conceived by director Motomu Toriyama and lead scenario writer Daisuke Watanabe and written by Jun Eishima who also wrote Final Fantasy XIII: Episode Zero -Promise- and Final Fantasy XIII-2: Fragments After which were both also conceived by Toriyama and Watanabe.

It includes 224 pages, and will cost $14.00 US /$18.50 CAN. It will be available via AAA Anime, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Google Play, Indigo, Indiebound, Kobo and RightStuf.

The English cover picture will be released at a later date.

Part of this novella was actually released in English before as Final Fantasy XIII: -Episode i- which came with various editions of Final Fantasy XIII-2 back in 2012 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 but this marks the first time the full novella will be available in English.

The novella was first released in Japan on December 15, 2011 alongside Final Fantasy XIII-2 and was later released in Germany by Panini on April 8, 2014 and France by Lumen on December 3, 2015.

There is currently unfortunately no word on Final Fantasy XIII: Episode Zero -Promise- but hopefully it isn't too far away.

Regardless, this seems like a nice way to help celebrate Final Fantasy XIII's 10th anniversary.
